Testing

Testing starts with your arrival approximately 15 minutes before your scheduled time. You will first check-in at the gate and then proceed to the athlete check-in. There you will have your metrics taken and then we will provide a briefing. After the briefing you will then have 1/2 the field to do your typical warm-up that you would do with your home football team. If this is your first year of football, you will be instructed and assisted with a warm up. Each station will be “Open” for trial runs without metrics, so after stretching and getting warm for your event you are free to go to any station to get familiar with each. Below is the instructions for each of the events. If you are in the first section of the session and there are overflows from those who want skills assessment, we will do some of this at the time, mostly the drill work. However, most of the time slots except the last of each session will not have that attribute. At that time we will start testing in a specific order:

1. Agility Run
2. Broad Jump
3. 40-Yard Dash
4. Vertical Jump (this is last because in most venues requires tennis shoes instead of cleats)

Position Skills Assessment (Only available to those who signed up- TE’s with WR group)

  • DB’s Begin the Assessment with Drill Work (Line and Field Drills)
  • QB’s and Receivers will warm-up by playing catch during DB’s Drill Work
  • QB’s will set up a gauntlet drill with both DB’s and WR’s
  • QB’s, WR’s, and RB’s will then set-up for pass patterns in 3-5-7 step drop work
  • DB’s and LB’s will perform ball drills during pass pattern work
  • 1/2 QB’s will then go with RB’s to do handoff, pitch, and option assessments w/ LB’s
  • 1/2 QB’s will then go with WR’s/DB’s and do a mirror 1v1 drill (no contact-no pass breakups-footwork only) LB’s will be added for a zone drop drill assessment
  • QB’s and LB’s will switch at half drill
  • ALL QB’s will work on decision and pressure drills will all other positions
  • DB’s, QB’s, and WR’s will be excused
  • RB’s and LB’s will do some drill work to assess footwork and decisions.
  • That will conclude all the skills assessments

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS FOR COMBINE TESTING

ONLY WATER: Be advised to bring your own water jug to help limit the spread of germs. We will have water available for refills of your water jug

NO SPIKES OR SCREW IN CLEATS (NO METAL SOLES): Only football cleats with the molded cleat will be allowed on the field. Track shoes without spikes will be allowable but must pass inspection to prevent field damage

NO COACHING: We do not provide any coaching whatsoever. We only explain what we want to see and/or how to perform the task. We record all of the skills assessment section and will send you an assessment within 30 days of the Combine Event. If more than 5 athletes from a school attend a High School Combine Event, the coach will be given a logon and password to view, assess, and coach those who performed the Assessment Section of the Combine Event.

NO BULLYING OR HAZING BEHAVIOR: All levels of ability will be welcomed to our Combine Events. There will be only ONE WARNING if the behavior cannot be substantiated by any witness(es) of the behavior but will result in disqualification and removal from the event if more than one person was a witness to it.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY: In the event of a weather issue that results in cancellation prior to the Event, will result in your option to use your credit to attend the next Event or get a full refund. In the instance where there is a weather issue during the Event, the venue manager will assist us with the safety protocol and we will resume the Event upon the conclusion of the weather issue. IF ANY PORTION OF THE EVENT RESULTS IN TESTING, you will only be able to get a credit to complete the testing once started.
